From Annette & Mike Keegan,
In the early 90's George and Sara took me into their home and I lived with them
for a year. It was a truly peaceful and serene experience for me, at a
time in my life when I needed just that. George was a sweet, sweet
man with a kind and generous heart. I always felt like part of his family. In
his later years George became a faithful member of Alanon and his message was
simply and clear "Pray to God and work the Steps..." I will,
George. I will be eternally grateful to have had this wonderful man in my
life. I love you, George...Always, Annette Keegan - Mike, too

re:Geo Z-I first met Geo
when he brought an AA mtg to Maynord's in l979 and have considered him a
cherished friend ever since. Whether in the fellowship or a shopping aisle in
Walmart he always made time to display genuine caring. He was what they say in
the 12 traditions about attraction rather than promotion. I will miss his
physical presence but his spirit lingers on. My thoughts, love and prayers are
with his family. Annette B

I am so grateful for the
wonderful moments I had with this inspiring man. He sparkled with humor
and taught us that merriment is indeed divine

The smiles, the hugs, the
open-heartedness, the patience, the wonderful stories, the kindness, the humor,
that twinkle in his eye, AND THE ROSES!!....these are things that i counted on
from my friend George. I'm grateful for having known you and I'll miss you. I
send you light and love and blessings as the next step of your journey unfolds.
You did make a wonderful difference with the gifts you gave in the time you were
given here. Well done!! I love you.

What a kind and truly gentle sprit George was. The best kind of friend to have always a kind word, always a smile and that laugh, too contagious. He'd only laugh when you saw the joke too. George had truly found the way to inner-peace and he was fueled by sharing it, no wonder he always seemed to have so much energy! Did i mention that laugh? I convinced George to sell me three poles back in 91. What a gift! They are almost 30 ft tall now and maybe a foot at their base. I always at least drive by and say thanks again whenever I'm in Sonora. Thanks George. I'm not really sure you know how much you gave away, thinking you were just sharing your experience strength and hope. You gave me hope of my own. Have to try and repay you by passing it on. Still I know I'll never develop a Zappettini. Just have to watch the ones George gave me grow.

George is survived by wife Sarah and four Children, Karen, Jan, Bob and Gina. I was blessed with the opportunity of an exit interview one week ago. George graciously responded to all my questions as best he could. The serenity that was evident in his eyes and smile that day was genuine I'm sure. George will be missed by not only his immediate family but 2 other extended families as well; the fellowships of the Unity Church as well as the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous.
I'm sure the "Zappettini Factor" will live on and on. Thanks again George.
